Location: CN-Hong Kong

The BMC (Brand, Marketing and Communications) function has an important role to play in helping to achieve EY’s Vision 2020 ambition to become the leading global professional services organization. We work hand in hand with the business to take services and solutions to market; bring our purpose, building a better working world, to life for our people, clients and communities; engage our people and build a high performing culture; and to build the commercial value and emotional resonance of the EY brand.

BMC is led globally by Karen Hopkins. The function is made up of around 2,000 professionals, working across the Executive and Regions in the following areas of specialism: Brand; Marketing; PR/Media Relations & External Communications; Internal Communications &Employee Engagement; Corporate communications.

BMC also includes a number of teams who are responsible for content development, editorial, webcasts, events-staging, strategy, planning and operations. Through the collective power of BMC, and the other teams and specialists we work with, we aim to build a better working world by driving commercial value through distinctive marketing and communications that deliver measurable market impact.

The opportunity

Your key responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • be a senior member of the brand marketing and communications team, working directly with the Director of Brand Marketing and Communications for Asia Pacific to improve timely flow of information and planning between the Global Executive and our Regional BMC teams. 
  • be part of a global marketing network that streamlines and aligns our global brand positioning, and our high-profile marketing campaigns into our core regional markets of ASEAN, Greater China, Japan, Korea, and Oceania. 
  • work closely with our Area Service Line marketing teams, of Assurance, Advisory, Tax and Transactions, to coordinate their activities, and where possible streamline and team effectively so that regions can easily deploy the programs to the right accounts.
  • be a strong advocate for advising the EY client serving partners on key marketing strategies, and where appropriate take the lead on key Asia Pacific marketing campaigns that require strong cross service line collaboration. 
  • work closely with our markets and business development function and provide strategic advice on account based marketing strategies, sponsorship investments and joint venture marketing activities with our key technology alliance partners.  
  • Be able to build relationships with agencies, industry bodies, analysts, journalists, and other external parties that are critical to building our brand and reputation across Asia Pacific
  • Use your experience as a strong marketing professional to inspire others in the team and be responsible for key learning and development initiatives that help our function stay ahead of the latest marketing trends and deliver campaign results that demonstrate strong ROI.

The role has flexible working hours, with approximately 25% of your time required to liaise with global BMC teams in different time zones.  It will require occasional cross border travel (around one trip per quarter)

  •  Ability to work in highly matrixed global organisation that requires complex senior stakeholder management
  • A strong team player, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently

  • Excellent communication and networking skills – able to effectively manage and influence senior leaders as well as a broad range of internal and client facing professionals

  • Ability to work in a high pace, agile environment

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities effectively

  • Ability to synthesize complex information into simple, high impact messages

Qualifications

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Experience in a cross-border role, successfully managing multiple complex projects at a global level
  • Experienced in B2B marketing, with substantial experience in either professional services, financial services or technology sectors

  • Good understanding brand strategy and purpose driven organisations

  • Experience managing or influencing culturally diverse teams

  • Outstanding communication abilities and experience

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • High level of influencing and networking skills
  • Ability to challenge views/perspectives while securing buy-in within BMC and beyond

  • Experience with the use of a variety of digital channels to deliver initiatives to targeted buyers
