Manager - Commercial Analytics

Location: CN-Hong Kong S.A.R.

Position Summary

As a Manager – Commercial Analytics, this position will report to Vice President – Revenue, Asia Pacific as well as Head of Analytics and Insights. The primary purpose of this position is to provide analytic support to Commercial Services, with strong focus and expertise in revenue management analytics to maximize overall revenue performance of hotels, outgrow versus competition, as well as to ensure all revenue-related KPIs for the region can be met.

This person will produce reports and dashboards to track hotel and region’s revenue performance; conduct deep dive analysis to identify opportunities and strategies for maximizing hotel’s revenue performance; and provide strategic guidance leveraging all commercial data sources to drive impact more holistically. This person may also assist on revenue system’s support and training.

Under the supervision of Vice President – Revenue, Asia Pacific and Head of Analytics and Insights, this person will engage with all levels of the organization as well as hotel revenue leaders. This is a regional role based in Hong Kong to support the needs of the Asia Pacific region.

Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Manager – Commercial Analytics will include:

  • Conduct analysis to guide corporate revenue management team to formulate transient and group inventory and pricing strategies towards the goal of increasing market share and maximizing revenues for the hotels.
  • Assist with the implementation of the regional sales strategy and pricing recommendations across all channels Hyatt key revenue systems and market segments.
  • Track and measure strategies and tactics deployed. Regularly update hotels on progress and suggest direction or fine-tuning tactics if necessary.
  • Support new opening projects with market intelligence and data support.
  • Manage and maintain Hyatt revenue management systems including PRiO, Reserve, Opera, Envision in accordance with Hyatt Revenue Management Standards.
  • Analyze and monitor hotels’ Font Desk up-sell programs to maximize on overall revenue performance
  • Provide monthly analysis across all revenue management metric, e.g. RevPAR, RevPAR Index, scorecard, booking pace, market trend, etc.
  • Review and identify focused hotels and coordinate the development of hotel action plan between hotel and corporate team.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis based on business needs among all disciplines of Commercial Services to turn data into meaningful insights to help drive action/ implementation.
  • Provide revenue management deep dive for Project Archer.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of revenue management experience, preferably in hospitality and business analysis & management reporting

Education

  • Degree holder in Business Administration / Marketing / Finance / Statistics or related discipline

Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job

  • Excellent skills in managing Revenue Management systems. These include but not limited to Hotel Industry Revenue Management Systems, Central Reservation Systems, Property Management Systems, Sales and Catering Systems, Passkey and Cognos or another form of business intelligence tool.
  • Advanced PowerPoint & Excel skills.
